Linton Crest HOA Bulletin
Posted on Oct 28th, 2019
In recent weeks there has been an increase in non compliance with HOA rules regarding garbage collection and garbage and recycling bins. Garbage and recycling are not being properly stored in the bins provided, resulting in trash bags, boxes and other trash/recycling littering streets and neighborhoods on windy days. Garbage bins are being left out on the street for a day or two following pick up days and not promptly stored away as required. We have also had complaints that some homeowners keep their loaded bins at the curb for days creating a smelly, unsightly and unhealthful environment.
The following is a suggested guideline and reminder of applicable rules to assist homeowners with compliance:
1. Garbage and/or recycle bins must be placed at the curb after 6 pm the night before collection and removed from the curb by the end of the collection day. Note that Monday is garbage only day and Thursday is garbage and recycling collection day.
2. Garbage and/or recycle bins must be stored inside the garage, or behind a six foot privacy fence, not where they are visible from the street.
3. All garbage and recyclable items must be properly loaded in the bins to prevent spillage resulting in littering on the street on a windy day.
4. Note that Prince William County has revised its rules regarding recycling. The most important change for residents is the elimination of glass bottles and jars, plastic containers, tubs and buckets (usually numbered 3-7) from recycling collection.
We are soliciting community support in ensuring compliance with applicable rules and to help maintain a clean, healthful and aesthetically vibrant environment.
